KIDAPAWAN CITY, (PNA) — A government driver here has fled with the city councilors cash money and a government issued vehicle, police said.
Kidapawan City Councilor Gregory Yarra went to police station and put on record that his driver, Arthur Manggi, was no where to be found the past two days and the vehicle he was driving, according to Superintendent Leo Ajero, Kidapawan City police director.
Yarra said the mobile number of his driver could not be reached.
However, police recovered Yarra’s vehicle, a Toyota Avanza, abandoned at the Kidapawan City Overland Integrated Terminal at about 7 p.m. Thursday.
His driver was nowhere to be found since.
After repeatedly trying to reach Manggi through his mobile phone, Yarra checked on his room where he had been keeping the money and found out the cabinet was emptied with cash.
“Never mind the money, what worries me was the vehicle, it’s a government property,” Yarra said even as he appealed to Manggi to return the money.
Manggi had been driving for Yarra the past six years.
