Senior Police Officer 1 Liela Mariecres B. Arellano won in Administrative Management category; SPO1 Nieva Liza C. Castro in Human Resource Development; Police Office 3 Lani E. Peralta for Police Community Relations and PO3 Ritchie M. Fabian for Traffic Management.

The search for “Ten Outstanding Policemen in the Province of La Union” (TOPPLU) was initiated by the Provincial Government as their way of expression and appreciation of the police’s commitment in maintaining peace and order in La Union.

An Ordinance No. 025-2012 authored by Board Member Joaquin C. Ostrea Jr. created the TOPPLU Award. This was in view of the desire of the Provincial Government of La Union to recognize the best cops in the province.

Police Chief Superintendent Ricardo Marquez, Regional Director of PRO1 congratulated the awardees and told them to continue their service with dignity and professionalism and serve as model police of the PNP organization.

He likewise expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of La Union for such recognition they accorded to the members of La Union Police.

“We are very thankful for giving award and credit to our policemen. Magsisilbi itong inspirasyon ng ating kapulisan sa kanilang pagseserbisyo. (This will inspire our policemen to serve more) I hope this can also be done in other provinces of the region,” Marquez added.

The winners received a Plaque of Recognition and cash prize amounting to P5,000.00 each.
