Labor attache to grace STAC-J’s research forum

Labor Attache Reydeluz D. Conferido will be the guest speaker during the 8th Graduate Research Forum of the Science and Technology Advisory Council – Japan (STAC-J), which will be held on September 8 at the Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC) in Odaiba, Tokyo, STAC-J president Mudjekeewis Santos said.

The event, which will begin with a registration at 2:30 pm, will showcase the research results of five (5) Filipino researchers through 15-minute presentations on topics ranging from plastics to shrimps.

Scheduled to present are Katrina Mona Santiago of the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Synthesis and Properties of Soluble High-Performance Engineering Plastic, poly(arylene ether ketone)s, Mary Beth B. Maningas of the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (RNA Technology in Shrimp Immunity), Brian Gozun of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Saitama (The Network Reliability of Transport: The Case of Metro Manila), Augustus Resureccion of Saitama University (Descriptive and Predictive Models for Gas Transport in Unsaturated Undistubed Volcanic Ash Soils (Andisols)) and Dr. Alan Tan of the Tokyo Institute of Technology (Modeling of a 2D Fluid Filled Borehole).

8th_GRF_poster“The research forum aims to recognize the scholarly work of Filipino researchers and students in Japan and to foster academic discussions and exchanges among students and professionals alike,” Santos said.

To reach the venue, take the New Transit “Yurikamome” line from Shimbashi Station and get off at Fune-no-Kagakukan station (turn right after you exit the ticket gates). TIEC is just 3 minutes away. The activity will be held at the Cooking Instruction Room on the 1st Floor of Building A.
