MANILA, (PNA) — Police anti-kidnapping operatives safely rescued on Wednesday night a Kuwaiti national who was kidnapped by unidentified men in the City of Manila last August 25.
Sketchy reports reaching the Manila International Airport Authority identified the rescued victim as Ahmad Mohammad Abdullah Alkandari, 49, who was snatched by armed suspects after having coffee in a mall in Ermita, Manila.
Reports said Alkandari’s family paid more than P600,000 in cash to the kidnappers through money transfer.
Alkandari’ family then informed authorities of the matter who planned the rescue operation.
The victim was able to persuade his captors to take him to NAIA Terminal 3 Wednesday night so he can fetch his wife who was an arriving passenger from Pagadian City.His wife reportedly carried a big amount of money.
Anti-kidnapping policemen pre-positioned themselves at the airport and readily rescued the victim on site. The unidentified men who escorted the victim to the airport hurriedly left the area upon sensing the presence of police authorities.
Policemen are investigating the incident.
