MANILA, (PNA) — Immigration Officer-in-Charge Siegfred Mison appealed for teamwork from the agency’s rank and file as he urged them to support his campaign to reform and professionalize the bureau.
In a statement, Mison vowed to first consult the affected BI employees before implementing his planned total revamp in the agency.
He explained that the reshuffle will not be done abruptly but will be made only after completing a careful management study.
He assured he will ask the employees where they prefer to be re-assigned and that their supervisors or superiors will be consulted as well.
Mison stressed that the planned revamp aims to re-energize the agency, harness the employees’ potentials and deter corruption.
He said reassigning the employees to other posts will not only improve their knowledge of immigration laws but also enhance the quality of the bureau’s services.
As for employees who are facing administrative cases, Mison said he already instructed the BI board of discipline to expedite resolution of their pending cases.
He declared that employees found guilty of infractions will be meted the corresponding penalties while those cleared of wrongdoings will be given new assignments.
It was learned that more than a hundred BI employees are facing formal investigation by the board for various administrative offenses.
Mison said erring employees will be afforded the chance to reform themselves and contribute their share to uplifting the image and well-being of the agency.
He sought the employees’ support to his programs admitting it is vital to transforming the the agency’s image.
