MANILA, (PNA)–Quezon City councilors in District 6 led a gift-giving activity to some 230 persons with disability (PWDs) and out of school youth in Brgy. Pasong Tamo, QC.
Councilor Diorella “Lala” Sotto, Philippine Councilor’s League week celebration chairperson for this year who organized the event said that the gift-giving is a part of the city’s celebration of Philippine Councilor’s week.
“We decided to hold the gift-giving activity through the Servants of Charity to reach-out to unfortunate PWDs and other out of school youth in order to make them feel our concern and aspiration to help in improving their plights,” said Councilor Sotto in an interview.
Sotto added that she and other councillors from districts 1 to five also agreed to hold special activity in their respective area of jurisdiction.
“My brother, Councilor Gian Sotto and other councilors of district 3 simultaneously conducted also some medical and optical mission in selected barangays in district 3,” said Sotto.
She cited that other councilors from other districts in QC conducted similar activities to their preferred barangays to exemplify the city councilor’s unity in bringing service to QC residents.
To date, there are total of 36 councilors now in the six districts of QC.
