MANILA, (PNA) — Every Congress should be audited, said Sen. JV Ejercito on Thursday, stating the reason why it was crucial to include the years 2004 and 2007 in the special audit.
Ejercito encouraged the Commission on Audit to conduct a special audit report that would cover the 13th Congress considering the legitimacy of former Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was challenged.
Furthermore, the younger Ejercito senator said that several questionable releases were allowed under the former administration.
“I believe there are other Napoles out there. I don’t believe that those in the opposition are the only ones involved. The nation should know all those involved, whether it is a foe or friend of the President,” he said.
“The Filipino people should be in the know of all personalities involved in the pork barrel scam,” he further said.
“We are talking here of hundreds of millions of taxpayers’ money that are unverified and unmonitored.
“We need to take note of these voids and how to steer clear away from them,” he added.
Although it would take three years to completely examine releases made from one full term, Ejercito believed that it would help dig deep on the shady transactions and personalities involved in the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Furthermore, he also sought COA to zero in on other corporations and non-government organizations that operate the same modus operandi like JLN Corporation.
