MANILA, (PNA) — Fair weather will continue to prevail over the rest of the country due to the ridge of high pressure area affecting Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
In its advisory, PAGASA said the whole country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
It also indicated a temperature range of 25 to 34 degrees Celsius for Wednesday.
It added light to moderate winds blowing from the northwest to west prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest over the rest of the country.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
Weather Forecaster Alvin Pura said that warmer weather will continue in Metro Manila and also in the rest of Luzon due to high-pressure area over the West Philippine Sea.
Pura said temperatures will go up this week because of a ridge of a high pressure area spotted over the country’s western section and also attributed this warm weather to “monsoon break”.
Despite a warmer weather, he said the occurrence of isolated rains will still prevail due to localized thunderstorms.
He also credited the hot temperatures to the penetration of the direct heat of the sunlight into the earth’s surface, and cloudless sky in the past days.
Pura added that the HPA is the opposite of the low pressure area and associated with clear skies.
