TOKYO, (PNA/Xinhua) — Tokyo stocks opened lower Wednesday due to selling to lock in gains a day after Nikkei surged over 400 points, or nearly 3 percent.
At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was down 88.14 points, or 0.63 percent, from Tuesday at 13,890.30.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 6.87 points, or 0.60 percent, at 1,142.31.
