The decisions reached by the administration’s Liberal Party (LP) have made “sacrificial lambs” in two of Iloilo’s power figures.
This as heard from former Iloilo First District Representative Oscar “Oca” Garin Sr. admitting that he felt as such on the latest LP decision. The other “lamb,” Garin said, is former Governor and Fifth District Representative Niel Tupas Sr.
Yet sacrificial lambs and all, Garin jokingly said, they are now sure and certain to go to heaven.
Garin Sr. whose presence stood out amidst yesterday’s power figures was in his element and regaled the media with his comments.
“Ang akon lang to avoid mis-interpretation, gin- imbitar ako sang Presidente to have an audience with him. I was very very lucky and that was a rare occasion. Isa lang ang pamangkot niya sa akon, kung paano ma-strengthen ang Iloilo and I told him by holding on to Defensor and Tupas,” he shared. “But then ginhambalan ko siya, by the way President, hindi pa nga ako LP eh.”
Garin then disclosed how Aquino told him to have his son Richard forego with the Vice Governor post.
“He was not imposing but medyo hadlok man ko ah…who can say no to the President,” Garin said.
“We are sacrificial lambs, kami ni Niel,” as he then called on in jest to Niel Sr., “base palangit ka ni Niel…we are sacrificial lambs and as sacrificial lambs, we will be burned but our smoke goes to heaven.”
