Iloilo Parish hosts 1st ever RP ‘Vatican Exhibit of World’s Eucharistic

ILOILO CITY, PHILIPPINES – The Parish of Immaculate Conception in Tanza, Molo, Iloilo City has been chosen as host and venue of the country’s first-ever “Vatican Exhibit of World’s Eucharistic Miracles.”

A much-sought exhibit on tour all over Europe and the United States, Tanza Parish will open its doors starting November 7. As such, for the viewing public is an extensive assortment of photographs of documented Eucharistic Miracles. All pieces and historical descriptions have been duly recognized by the Vatican, catalogue for the ongoing Vatican International Exhibition.

Lorena Martirez, a parishioner obtained the copyright for the Philippine exhibition and readily chose Tanza Parish for the endeavor. To date, Martirez along with Parish Priest, Father Norberto Tacadao and church volunteers are working overtime to spread the word on the exhibit.

The Eucharistic Miracles was originally compiled by Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old boy in Milan, Italy whose Cause of Beatification has already been opened by the Diocese of Milan. This compilation was first used in 2005 (declared as Year of the Holy Eucharist by Pope John Pal II) in the Vatican during the First Eucharist Congress. Since then, it has become what is now known as the Vatican International Exhibition of the Eucharistic Miracles of the World.

“The Exhibit is an extensive assortment of photographs -over 100 panels – that took place throughout the ages in various countries of the world and which have been recognized by the Church. By means of the panels, one can “virtually visit” the places where the miracles took place recounting the wonderful miracles performed by God that we might believe in His Real Presence in the Eucharist. This very same Exhibit will be shown in Paray Le Monial from October 6-11, 2011 during the First Sacred Heart World Congress,” Martirez shared. “This will be held at the Pacita Laguda Sia Community Center (Parish of the Immaculate Conception), Tanza from November 7, 2011.”

The Exhibit will run for a month which will also allow guided group tours for all upon request, said Martirez.

“What a wondrous gift for us to be able to host and come closest to the documented stories of the world’s Eucharistic miracles,” she added. “And what a blessing that Tanza Parish will be its home for at least a month of Exhibition. By doing this, we hope to help reverse the current trend of indifference to the Real Presence and ignite the love for the Holy Eucharist, thus increasing the attendance to Holy Masses.” This will be our “little candle” – “If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be. It is important to remember that the vibrancy of the faith is more important than numbers alone.”

Early reservations for group tours may be made through Tanza Parish or by calling Martirez through telephone number (033) 321 3096 or Mobile : +63 908 891 1677.

“This will be our “little candle” – “If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be. It is important to remember that the vibrancy of the faith is more important than numbers alone.” Martirez said.
