Posted on October 6, 2011

By Florence F. Hibionada/ [PNS

Consider this – 5 restaurants each with a wide array of food choices – buffet style. No reservations needed and most important of all – you get to dine in all 5 restaurants but get to pay only once. Too good to be true? Not at all as “Food Trip” hits Iloilo City for the ultimate buffet of 5-restaurants with varied cuisine from different parts of the world. That alone is a promise of an exciting and one-of-a- kind dining experience.

To enjoy this unique culinary treat, all you need is a “Food Trip Passport” then voila! Your mouthwatering journey begins.

For only Php 550, one person gets the “Food Trip Passport” valid in ALL five restaurants namely AL DENTE and 101 Luna Steak Room at Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center, MAKI and FRESKA at Smallville Complex and Steps of Rome at Plazuela. The passport guarantees dining on a one-time visit per restaurant within a two-day period.

Al Dente is of course the city’s best Ristorante Italiano with the “Food Trip” experience bringing you a pasta bar with 20 different kinds of topping, a pizza station and organic salad bar.

101 Luna Steak Room offers only the best in prime steaks, U.S. Roast Beef, Paella, Callos, Lengua and Fish and Chips.

Maki is the ultimate Japanese Restaurant with assorted Sushi and Sashimi for the food trip days, Tempura shrimps, Gyoza, crabmeat and scallop spring rolls, Yakisoba, Beef Sukiyahi and Misono Rice.

Freska the Ilonggo Seafood Restaurant and home of Inasal will have its popular pork sisig, crispy pata, kilawin na tangigue, grilled oysters, chicken inasal, grilled stuffed squid and the halo-halo station.

And for your choice of Italian baby back ribs, gourmet burgers, American Taco Station, imported sausages and cheeses and crepe station with Gelato, Steps of Rome is the place to be.

“Food Trip” dining is 5pm to 11pm of September 15 and 16. No doubt – these days will bring you value-for-money and the ultimate in food trip. It will also be the day for that “gastronomic journey” to remember.

Passports are currently on sale and will continue until September 14, 2011 in all participating restaurants.

As an added treat, all bearers of the “Food Trip Passport” get a chance to win a pure bred Labrador Puppy with two puppies to be raffled off during the promo.
