ANX Home Healthcare Sponsors Seton Medical Foundation’s 2011 Charity Golf Classic

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 5, 2011 – ANX Home Healthcare (www.anxlife.com), a premier healthcare service provider for home-bound patients in the San Francisco Bay Area, was again counted among an impressive retinue of sponsors in the recent 30th Annual Charity Golf Classic last August 5, 2011 at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links. The event is one of the many special charitable endowments organized by the Seton Medical Foundation, under the auspices of the Daughters of Charity Health System (DCHS).

The whole-day affair was an avid golfer’s fantasy. A total of 112 players showed up bright and early, all vying for this year’s engraved Champion’s Cup Trophy. In addition to the regular tournament, there were also putting and chipping contests. Coffee and pastries were served in the morning before the games started, then no-host *bleep*tails and hors d’oeuvres were served in the afternoon.

ANX’s Thomas Rocas, himself a golf enthusiast, played in the tournament along with a few colleagues. “I believe in DCHS’s commitment to serve the poor and underserved. Supporting their cause will continue to bridge funds to continue serving our community,” said Rocas, when asked about his reason for his involvement.

Other notable golf participants were Dr. Jay Narayan, Dr. Tsuchiyose, Dr. Herman Angeles, Dr. Colman Ryan, Dr. James Stavosky, Clear Channel executives and employees, and Toyota executives and employees.

The day’s events concluded with a lavish celebration dinner at the Club House where a dessert auction and a live auction were held. ABC7 Morning News Meteorologist Mike Nicco stood as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies and Assemblymember Jerry Hill was invited as the Guest Auctioneer. Of note: a chocolate cake donated by the Goldilocks Bakery, another Filipino-American community fixture, was sold for $2,200 to the highest bidder. Also, an exciting African Safari for Two was put up for bid. Two trips, at a top bid of $3,400 each, were sold. For this year, a 2011 Toyota Prius, generously donated by City Toyota in Daly City, was raffled off as the grand prize. A Pacifica local was the lucky winner of the hybrid vehicle.

This year’s efforts netted over $110,000; in spite of tough economic times. All proceeds will go toward the costs of building permits and design of the new Seton Medical Center hospital tower.

As a committed member of the DHCS cause, ANX Home Healthcare immerses itself in the various charities that serve the Bay Area’s indigent and underserved. Staff members of ANX were graciously involved in all phases of this year’s event; from planning, registration, sponsorship, raffle ticket sales, including the pre-planning for the next year’s scheduled golf tournament. These benefits and other Seton Medical Foundation charitable events will remain in ANX’s agenda now and in the future.
