Senate to investigate Ai Ai and Kris?

PNS — POSIBLENG imbestigahan ng Senado ang ugong na may nangyaring anomalya umano sa awards night ng 36th Metro Manila Film Festival noong Linggo. Sinasabing ang pagkapanalo ni Ai-Ai de las Alas bilang best actress ay may kinalaman sa kanyang “best friend forever” na si Kris Aquino. Tinanghal na best actress si Ai-Ai delas Alas sa kanyang pelikulang “Tanging Ina Mo, Last na ’to” na nanalo ring best picture.

Aminado naman si Senador Gregorio Honasan, chairman ng Senate committee on public information and mass media, na bagaman laman na ng dyaryo at Internet ang kontrobersyal na pagkapanalo ni Ai-Ai, hindi nila ito agad na maiimbestigahan kung walang senador namaghahain ng resolusyon hinggil dito.

Dagdag ni Honasan na magsasagawa siya ng inisyal na imbestigasyon para malaman kung may basehan ang pagpapatawag ng hearing sa kontrobersya ng awards night ng MMFF. “Itatanong ko muna sa colleagues ko kung may basis ang investigation nito,” aniya.

Ilan sa kakausapin ng senador ay sina Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Sen. Lito Lapid, at ang ibang miyembro ng komite.

Kung sakaling matuloy, ipatatawag sa imbestigasyon si Ai-Ai at ang juror sa pangunguna ni presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda.

Kasama rin sina actor Robert Arevalo, Makati City student Justin Binos, film director Emmanuel Borlaza, Mandaluyong City teacher Arnold Cabaluna, movie reviewer and television host butch Francisco, Muntinlupa City bus driver Milton Medina, actress and satirist Mae Paner, Deedee Sytangco, Ricardo Trofeo at Baby Villegas.
