ZAMBOANGA CITY, Dec. 14 (PNA) -– First district Rep. Celso Lobregat has proposed two projects worth PhP1 billion that would help solve traffic and flooding in this city.
Lobregat told the Philippines News Agency the projects include the construction of an overpass and a pumping station, each worth PhP500 million.
Lobregat said the funding for the implementation of the two projects will be included in the General Appropriations Act of 2017.
He said the overpass will be constructed from the intersection of Veterans Avenue and Gov. Camins to the Maria Clara Lobregat Highway.
The overpass will help solve traffic at the intersection of Veterans Avenue and Gov. Camins that serve as the main entry point for vehicles coming the east coast of this city.
Lobregat said the pumping station will be placed in Barangay Zone IV particularly at Pilar Street to pump out flood water.
Pilar Street always gets inundated every time it rains since it is the downtown’s lowest part.
Lobregat said he already wrote Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Rogelio Singson to conduct the necessary feasibility study on the two projects. (PNA)
