MANILA, Dec. 13 (PNA) — The number of passengers stranded in various ports nationwide due to typhoon “Nona” was recorded at 3,997 as of 4 p.m. Sunday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said in an advisory.
Those stranded were passengers of 13 vessels, two motor bancas and 85 rolling cargoes.
A rundown of those stranded include:
Coast Guard District Bicol
1. ALBAY – 48 passengers, one vessel, 10 rolling cargoes
2. SORSOGON – 200 passengers, 64 rolling cargoes
3. CATANDUANES – 12 passengers, six rolling cargoes
Coast Guard District National Capital Region–Central Luzon
1. MANILA – 2,266 passengers, one vessel
Coast Guard District Central Visayas
1. CEBU – 1,471 passengers, nine vessels, two motor bancas, four rolling cargoes
2. TAGBILARAN – two vessels
3. DUMAGUETE – one rolling cargo
The state-run Philippine Atmospheric, geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) earlier forecast the possibility of raising Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 2 over the rest of Southern Luzon, Aklan, Capiz and Metro Manila tonight.
At 4 p.m. Sunday, the eye of the typhoon was located at 440 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar. (PNA)
