ILOILO CITY, Dec. 11 (PNA) –Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2016 promises another spectacular performance that could surpass previous editions of the internationally-renown best tourism event in the country which will highlight on Jan. 22-24.
Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog stressed that Ilonggos should be more proud and should continue to support to make Dinagyang more popular globally.
Next year’s edition anchors on the theme “Señor Santo Niño: Hope of the People” and banners the tagline “Beyond Fun, Beyond Fame, Beyond Borders.”
Dinagyang will offer more than fun to experience for visitors from all over the world, said City Tourism and Development Officer Junel Divinagracia.
She noted they already got confirmed bookings from ambassadors of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) member economies, Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and International Council of Museums (ICOM) that more dignitaries will be coming over to witness the event.
Dinagyang performers showcased their wares to the delegates during their conventions in the metropolis recently.
Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation Inc. (IDFI) President Ramon Cua Locsin said they received more emails from abroad inquiring how to get tickets to watch the tribes competition.
He noted that Anseong City in South Korea will be sending their Baudeogi Festival’s 20 dancers as guest performers here following Dinagyang’s presentation in the Korean festivity last October. (PNA)
