DAVAO CITY, Nov. 28 (PNA) — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to ”simultaneously deal with criminality and graft and corruption” if he wins in the 2016 presidential elections.
“I can promise you a law-abiding, God-fearing, comfortable community,” said Duterte in a chance interview Friday evening at the Matina Enclave Clubhouse here.
“Hindi ako nagpapakalinis, lahat tayo we are all here with black clay? I have (also) my dark side, normal ‘yan sa trabaho natin (but) criminality has to go,” he noted.
The mayor, who has come under fire from human rights advocates, stressed he would not change his ways in dealing with drug dealers and criminals.
”We have lost a generation sa drugs,” he said, adding that it is time to instill fear in the law.
”I just want everything followed normally. Ano ba ang batas, sundin mo lang ang batas. What is the rule just follow the rule, ganun lang,” he added. (PNA)
