ILOILO CITY, Nov 27 (PNA) — The association of restaurants and fun centers in Smallville complex in Mandurriao district here is planning to declare the five-hectare place a “No Firearm Zone” to be strictly implemented by security guards of all establishments in the area.
Jim Velez, president of the association, said they are also cooperating with the Iloilo City Police Office to keep the complex peaceful and free from armed men patronizing the complex especially at night.
The complex is the recognized fun haven of the city with several game centers and amenities such as swimming pools, specialty restaurants, family gaming, specialty shops, hotels, and video and music bars.
A security meeting was held early this week between Iloilo City Police Office chief Senior Supt. Kashmir Disomangcop and operators of Smallville establishments to draw the line of security at the complex.
All operators agreed not to allow entry of customers with guns even with a permit and other deadly weapons. The firearms must be deposited in a safety box which every establishment must maintain.
Disomangcop also assured the deployment of more police officers including roving police patrol cars to help in ensuring peace and order at the area especially at night.
All security guards must also have one unit of handheld radio to contact the police in case of commotion. (PNA)
