ILOILO CITY, Nov. 24 (PNA) — Good news to participating tribes of the Dinagyang Festival in 2016!
The Department of Tourism Region 6 is set to bring the Dinagyang Festival to Hongkong and participate in the most colorful Chinese Festival Night Parade in February 2016.
DOT regional director Helen Catalbas said the Western Visayas participation in the Hongkong Festival started in February 2015 upon the invitation of Hongkong Tourism Board to send a local festival that is most colorful and open to public participation.
Masscara Festival of Bacolod City was sent in 2015 to show off the festival of Western Visayas. There are more than 200 local festivals in the region and Masscara was selected to represent the region in the night parade.
In 2016, the Dinagyang Festival will be sent to Hongkong as a goodwill ambassador to perform before the Hongkong people and thousands of overseas Filipino workers. (PNA)
