MANILA, Nov. 18 (PNA) — Logistics for feeding and sheltering police officers tasked to secure the ongoing Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders Meeting in Metro Manila seems to be holding quite well.
This was disclosed by Philippine National Police head Director General Ricardo Marquez during a press briefing Wednesday.
“As far as I can see, the logistics (for feeding and sheltering) our police officers tasked to secure the ongoing APEC seems sufficient and okay,” he said in Filipino.
Marquez said the adequate preparations can be attributed to PNP Logistics head Director Juanito Vaño who even procured electric fans, tents, and commissioned 100 caterers to ensure that the needs of all police officers are met.
He added that close proximity of the caterers to the deployment areas of the officers ensures adequate feeding aside from placing water stations near their staging areas.
And while male police officers are housed in tents, female police officers are billeted in affordable hotels.
This is unlike in earlier times when securing units are forced to make do with whatever resources they have. (PNA)
