MANILA, Nov. 17 (PNA) — Application-based ride-sharing service Uber is offering a one-day chopper experience, UberChopper this weekend.
Uber said it has partnered with a local company that owns and operates air charter services in the Philippines, Airtrav Incorporated to make the chopper experience possible only on Saturday.
“This one day event will give lucky users (and two of their friends!) a chance for a free aerial tour around the city,” Uber said on its official website.
The company noted that interested users will need to open their Uber app from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, then slide over to the UberChopper option.
Uber users who are not able to score a free ride, may set up a pick up location then an UberBlack will take them to the helipad.
They are also advised to make sure that the user and friends are at the same pick-up location and ready to go. The vehicle will only pick up at one location and will wait a maximum of five minutes.
Uber said that the service is strictly limited to three passengers per flight (user plus two friends)
UberChopper will fly a fixed 10-minute route.
Passengers will not be able to request their own destination.
Meanwhile, refreshments will be provided and users will get a free UberBlack ride to take them back home once done.
If the weather doesn’t permit, UberChopper will be rescheduled to a later date.
All would-be passengers must be at least 18 years or older and should be a Filipino citizen.
Users must also bring a Philippine government-issued ID indicating the date of birth
However, Uber stressed that is not a direct air carrier, clarifying that all air services advertised will be provided free of charge by Aitrav. (PNA)
