ILOILO CITY, Nov. 13 (PNA) — This southern city is perking up with a soon to be Information Technology Park in a 16-hectare mixed use area along the Benigno Aquino Avenue in Mandurriao district.
City councilor Neilex Tupas, chairman of the committee on trade and industry of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) here said the Php 12-billion project was a clear manifestation of investors’ trust and confidence in Iloilo City as the city raced to become the new business and tourism hub in this part of the country.
Last week, the Iloilo City Council has approved an endorsement to the property development project of HEVA Management and Development Corp., a part of the Gaisano Group of Companies, in order to get accreditation from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Tupas said the project will help push the city as an IT center in the Visayas. Aside from being a new shopping and fun center in the city, the project boasts of a 40-storey skyscraper, commercial and residential spaces and leisure parks to soon rise in the area.
Tupas said the SP endorsement aimed to help project developer HEVA Management and Development Corp. get accreditation from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
Once accredited, the project will be eligible to receive incentives given to investors in PEZA-accredited areas. (PNA)
