MANILA, Nov. 3 (PNA) — Malacanang remains hopeful that Congress will pass the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) which aims to promote peace and development especially in Mindanao.
Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda was optimistic on BBL passage as Congress resumed its session on Tuesday.
“We would like to believe that each and every legislator whether in the House (of Representatives) or the Senate is for peace,” he said in a Palace press briefing Tuesday.
Lacierda believed that legislators would deliberate on the provisions of the proposed Bangsamoro law and eventually enact the measure.
“Certainly, we are discussing with our allies in Congress and the House the need to discuss and deliberate on the BBL,” he said.
“It’s important for us that the BBL as a measure be the means of operationalizing peace and development in Muslim Mindanao,” the Palace official added. (PNA)
