MANILA, Oct. 29 (PNA) — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) warned of a snail-paced traffic in major portions of the cities of Makati, Pasig and Quezon due to the scheduled road reblocking and repairs this weekend.
MMDA Officer-in-Charge Emerson Carlos said the road works will start on Friday (Oct. 30) at 10 p.m. until Monday (Nov. 2) at 5 a.m.
He said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will undertake road reblocking and repairs in the following areas:
Southbound:
1. Along EDSA, from Estrella Street to Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue
2. Along EDSA between Scout Borromeo and Timog Avenue (Service Road), 1st lane from sidewalk
Northbound
3. Along C-5 Road between SM Warehouse to FR Cement going to Lanuza Street, innermost lane
4. Along EDSA between Aurora Boulevard and K-10 Street, 1st lane from sidewalk
Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and use alternate routes instead.
Carlos said DPWH-National Capital Region Director Melvin Navarro has recommended the reblocking and repair of the said areas for maintenance purposes.
All affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Monday.(PNA)
