ILIGAN CITY, Oct. 29 (PNA) – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has distributed PhP15 million farm equipment to farmer cooperatives in five towns of Lanao del Norte.
Lanao del Norte Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Jamiel Amatonding Jr. told the Philippines News Agency the beneficiaries are the following cooperatives: Maria Cristina Coconut Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Baloi; Pangi Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Matungao; Rebucon Farmers’ Cooperative of Sultan Naga Dimaporo; Rebe Multi-purpose Cooperative (MPC) of Lala; and, Palao Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) Cooperative in Tubod.
Amatonding said the five cooperatives have more than 2,500 farmer-members. They received tractors, trailing harrows, disc plows, corn sheller, floating tillers and five trailers.
Amatonding said the turnover of the equipment to the beneficiaries, which was held Monday, was witnessed by DAR Regional Director Faisar Mambuay; Lanao del Norte Gov. Mohammad Khalid Dimaporo; first district Rep. Imelda Dimaporo; and, Matungao Vice Mayor Jabbar Azis.
He said the farm equipment were acquired through DAR’s Agrarian Reform Connectivity Economic Support Services (ARCCESS).
He advised the farmer-beneficiaries to put to good use the farm equipment given them to boost their farm production. (PNA)
