BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Oct 27 (PNA) — The provincial government here is set to conduct a provincewide population congress to heighten awareness on adolescent reproductive health care among the youth.
Lita Tabudlo, provincial social welfare and development officer, said the provincial population congress which will carry the theme: Ang Pag-aaral ay para sa Hinaharap, Huwag Ipagpalit sa Sandaling Sarap” will be held next month at the Nueva Vizcaya General Comprehensive High School(NVGCHS) in this town.
“This is one of our major campaigns to encourage the youth not to engage in premarital sex and or teenage pregnancy so that they can continue on with their studies and career in their respective communities,” she said.
Tabudlo said the population congress will also offer knowledges and inputs on reproductive health law, prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases(STDs) and HIV-AIDS and teenage pregnancy and drug abuse, among others.
She said that aside from the youth, the congress will also draw attendance and support from population program managers, health and non-health workers and service providers, among others.
“The congress will also serve as a way to increase awareness of Novo Vizcayanos on the negative consequences of various adolescent reproductive health issues and concerns and share results of population – related researches, studies and insights at the national and regional levels,” Tabudlo said.
