Tickets now available for those who want the best view of MassKara streetdance competition

Posted on October 14, 2015

BACOLOD CITY, Oct. 14 (PNA) — Starting this year, organizers of the MassKara Festival are selling tickets for choice seats during the much-awaited street and arena dance competition this coming weekend.

Rhoderick Samonte, festival director and president of Kasadya Bacolod Development Foundation Inc. (KBDFI), said, however, that only selected areas are ticketed.

“Since we may not be ready yet for the system, we only selected the areas to be ticketed which is good for viewing during the arena competition of MassKara streetdancing,” Samonte said.

The schools showdown will be held on October 16 while the contest between the barangays on October 17.

The venue of the arena dance competition is at Paglaum Sports Complex.

About 600 tickets for the upper deck of the stadium are available at PHP200 each while at the lower deck, complimentary tickets will be provided for the guests.

Baldomero Defensor, coordinator for MassKara arena and streetdance competition, said there will be three stations with bleachers on the streets which will be also ticketed at PHP200 each.

Each station along the intersections of Araneta-Rosario Streets, Araneta-San Sebastian Streets, and Araneta-Luzuriaga Streets can accommodate 80 persons.

Entrance to areas not mentioned is free, Samonte said.

He pointed out that the concept of selling tickets was suggested by Department of Tourism-6 Regional Director Helen Catalbas, who said that organizers can sell tickets for the MassKara since it is such a high-quality event.

The tickets intend to provide space and comfort for the Very Important Persons (VIPs), tourists, and audiences who are willing to pay for it, he added.

Tickets are also sold by organizers of Ati-atihan, Sinulog, and Dinagyang festivals, Samonte said, but the MassKara tickets are priced lower than those of other festivals.(PNA)
