CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Oct. 12 (PNA) — Governor Lilia Pineda on Monday distributed financial, food and medical assistance to some 1,800 tuberculosis (TB) patients at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
The governor personally handed the food package consisting of rice, noodles, canned goods and others; and PHP1,200 cash each patient.
The TB patients are from the 1st, 3rd and 4th district of the province. Pampanga has 6 districts.
Elizabeth Baybayan, provincial officer of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said that patients from the 2nd district have already received their packages.
The patients from the 5th and 6th districts will get theirs on a later date, Baybayan said.
She said the governor will also distribute food and financial assistance to dialysis patients on Tuesday.
Pineda’s program on health is the top priority of her administration.
Romita Marin of Barangay Sta. Maria, Minalin town, said she is grateful for the health care the governor is extending to them, adding that, “it is a big help for our recovery.” (PNA)
