Global Pinoys get an equal chance to join ‘The Biggest Loser’

ABS-CBN Global, an innovator and leader in providing world-class entertainment to Filipinos, once again makes a splash by bringing the popular TV franchise “The Biggest Loser” to Filipino audiences wherever they are in the world via The Filipino Channel (TFC). “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” will give Filipinos battling obesity a chance to make a big change in their lives. Through TFC, which was granted with international exhibition rights to the format, Filipinos in all regions and across all media platforms can witness and join their Kapamilyas in the Philippines in their quest for better, healthier lives.

Online auditions for “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” are open until August 27, 2010 to individuals with Filipino lineage between the ages of 18-40. Male applicants must weigh at least 250 lbs and female applicants must weigh at least 200 lbs. Interested parties can simply visit http://biggestloserpinoyedition.abs-cbn.com to upload their video of not more than five minutes long, describing how much they weigh, why they are at their current weight, and why they want to become part of “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition”. The bolder and more bombastic they are, the more they show their personality and desire to commit to a healthier lifestyle, the better. As Executive Producer Reily “Jun” Santiago says, “We need to get to know the real you, raw and uncut.” Along with the video, aspiring contestants must complete the online form.

ABS-CBN Global Corporate Affairs Head Jeffrey Remigio looks forward to many TFC subscribers joining the auditions, “This is a chance for Global Pinoys to show the world their growing commitment to live a healthier lifestyle, their tenacity to improve their lives and their burning desire to achieve their goals.”

“The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition” online auditions will officially close on August 27, 2010. Selected Global contestants will enjoy free roundtrip travel to the Philippines as well as hotel accommodations care of the program producers.
