PNS — SENIOR Philippine National Police officials yesterday honored former Chiefs of the PNP and the defunct Philippine Constabulary led by former President Fidel V. Ramos as it marked its Recognition Day at Camp Crame.
PNP chief Director General Jesus A Verzosa led his men in according top honors to the former leaders of the organization, including Ramos and former Executive Secretary Renato S. de Villa, who served as PC/INP Chief from 1986 to 1988.
The PNP is celebrating every 8th of August to commemorate the joint founding anniversaries of the Philippine Constabulary established in 1901 and the Integrated National Police founded in 1975.
Verzosa said the ceremony gives due recognition to the PC/INP and the former leaders of the PNP who now compose the PNP Council of Elders.
Apart from Ramos and de Villa, other former PC/INP and PNP Chiefs present yesterday were retired PNP chiefs Recaredo A. Sarmiento II and Avelino I. Razon, Jr.
