MAKILALA, North Cotabato, Oct. 3 (PNA) — The National Housing Authority (NHA) has transferred on Friday another PHP2.5 million for the ongoing Indigenous People’s (IP) Housing project in remote Sitio Malumpini, Barangay New Bulatukan here.
Engr. Zenaida Cabiles, NHA provincial acting manager, said the money is intended to construct the second batch of 25 houses targeted for completion this year.
Early on, the NHA has completed 25 housing units for IPs worth P2.5-M on same site in Sitio Malumpini.
The NHA and Makilala’s Local Inter-agency Committee have agreed to fast track the project implementation to formally turnover the houses to Lumad beneficiaries before the year-end.
Cabiles said a recent ocular inspection conducted on the project site last month yielded minimal faults and were easily fixed.
Makilala Mayor Rudy Caoagdan said a road project from the town center to Sitio Malumpini is also nearing completion for easy access to the far-flung IP community.
“We are so confident to accomplish the project that will house our IP brethren in a decent and more comfortable environment,” Caoagdan said.
Concurrently, the NHA is also implementing a 50-unit IP Housing Project in Purok 6, Barangay Batasan, Makilala amounting to PHP5 million. (PNA)
