LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Sept. 28 (PNA) — The Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP), through its Lingayen Branch here, will soon provide the provincial government, especially its employees, with additional banking services.
This will done soon after the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between the provincial government and the LBP.
This is provided for in approved provincial board provincial resolution no. 1582-2015 authorizing the Governor Amado Espino Jr., to enter into and sign a MOA with the LBP, through Lingayen branch manager Liza Melendez, for the implementation of the point-of-sale (POS) debit and electronic payment portal (ePP) facilities at the different provincial government facilities.
“The POS debit and ePP facilities would be very advantageous as it would provide an increase in transactions at the different provincial government facilities considering that debit cards are linked to accounts of millions banking cardholders nationwide,” the resolution stated.
According to Melendez, the POS debit and ePP services offer faster ways of collection of payments and a safer and more convenient payment of bills for customers.
The POS terminal facility facilitates the authentication of payments and/or cash withdrawals using locally issued automated teller machine (ATM) cards, debit cards, and cash cards while the EPP is an e-banking system that allows internet-based payment system.
The provincial board said that such services offered by the LBP, Lingayen Branch are deemed beneficial to the provincial government of Pangasinan. (PNA)
