MANILA, Sept. 20 (PNA) — Government security forces are tracking down the suspects behind the improvised explosive device (IED) blast which damaged the Maimbung Police Station in Sulu Saturday evening.
The incident took place at 6:45 p.m., Joint Task Group Sulu commander Brig. Gen. Alan Arrojado said.
The IED exploded at Barangay Laum, Maimbung town and damaged the fence, kitchen and ceiling of the local police station. Fortunately, no one was wounded in the blast.
Explosive ordnance disposal teams from the Marine Battalion Landing Team 8 and the 52nd Special Action Company were immediately deployed to conduct post-blast investigations.
Investigators are still determining the motive for the attack, Arrojado said. (PNA)
