LAOAG CITY, Sept 17 (PNA) –The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to put up two Negosyo Centers in the province to provide one-stop shop and support services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Strategically located in the business district of Laoag and Batac City, Elizabeth Castro, Senior Trade Development Specialist of the DTI said the twin Negosyo Centers will be launched in early October to promote ease of doing business.
According to Castro, the DTI is establishing Negosyo Centers in provinces, cities and municipalities in line with Republic Act 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act signed into law by President Aquino on July 2014.
The Negosyo Centers will provide a one-stop shop specifically to provide the following: business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information, as well as monitoring and evaluation of business processes for MSMEs.
Funded by the DTI, the facilities will be equipped with computers manned by DTI staff with a counterpart from the local government unit.
These facilities will also be link to the Philippine Business Registry System (PBRS) to make it easier and faster for entrepreneurs to start and register their businesses at the local level.
The PBRS is a government project that integrates the services of all agencies involved in business registration, such as the DTI, Securities and Exchange Commission, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Social Security System, Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Philippine Health Insurance Corp., and other permit and license-issuing agencies.(PNA)
