LILIW, Laguna, Sept. 15 (PNA) — A new concrete public water tank will be constructed soon in the town which will collect water from a new-found spring
””There is a need to construct another concrete water tank to gather the overflow of water from the new-found spring, another water source for the town residents,” Mayor Sulibit said in an interview on Monday.
“We will also reinforce the height existing of the existing tank that has a tendency to overflow during rainy days,” he added.
”The fund for the construction of the concrete water tank will come from the new release of PHP1.46 million from the DILG BUB (Department of Interior and Local Government – Bottom Up Budgeting) program,” the mayor narrated.
Also, a perimeter fence will be constructed around the tank in order to prevent entry of people and animals which might cause contamination of the water source especially during rainy days.
According to the mayor, the town has constructed a concrete water tank using the first release of Php 1.7 million fund from the Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) of the DILG Salintubig project promoting potable water supply.
At present, the water supply of the town uses gravitational force for it to reach the residents. Locals say the water tastes bad during rainy days.
Mayor Sulibit said that construction of the concrete public water tank will start anytime this week. (PNA)
