JAEN, Nueva Ecija, Sept. 14 (PNA) — The city mayor’s office is now ready to submit to the municipal council the proposed 20-percent development funds for 2016 after it has been approved by the village officials and civil society organizations, the local chief executive said Monday.
Mayor Santiago Austria said the program for the fund which totaled PhP24,879,232 was approved in a recent meeting held at the senior citizens’ building here.
”Like what we have been doing in the past, we discussed every request of the barangay,” Austria said, saying that the fund will be used in the construction of 12 multi-purpose gymnasiums, multi-purpose building for senior citizens, day care centers and concreting.
The committee that approved the program, he said, was composed of the municipal planning and development office, municipal engineering, civil society organizations, barangay chairmen.
Austria, as mayor, chairs the committee.
He explained that the proposal will be submitted to the Sangguniang Bayan, presided by Vice Mayor Henry Velarde, as part of the proposed annual budget.
The executive finance committee, he explained has only until Oct. 16 this year to submit the proposed annual budget. (PNA)
