CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Sept. 12 (PNA) – The local august body here passed a resolution endorsing the proposed law for the adoption of a uniform road signs throughout the country.
City Councilor Prexy Elipe, principal sponsor of Resolution No. 1235-2015 on Saturday, said that the adoption of a uniform road signs throughout the country is very important in order that the road signs would be adopted and implemented nationwide.
Aside from a uniform design, the costing in the installation of the road signs would also be uniformed. “A uniform cost would also get away with over pricing and shorten the long process of auditing during the turnover of the project,” Elipe said.
Senator Chiz Escudero authored Senate Bill No. 2882 requiring the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to adopt a uniform road sign, structures, and specifications throughout the country.
Under the proposed Bill, the DPWH should require a uniform road sign in all national, municipal, villages, streets, waiting sheds, speed bumps, sidewalks, streetlights and other along the road in the country.
The City Council committee on laws has endorsed the adoption of the resolution during the regular session last Monday. (PNA)
