MANILA, Sept. 11 (PNA) — Solar-developer Solar Philippines and insurance-firm Pioneer is now offering “Solar Protect”, an insurance policy for solar rooftops.
”Solar Protect allows households with solar installations to mitigate the costs arising from solar panel damage caused by fire, lightning, earthquakes, typhoons, floods, falling aircraft/objects falling from aircraft, robbery, vehicle impact, smoke and explosions, riots, strikes, malicious damage by 3rd parties and vandalism,” said Solar Philippines in a statement Friday.
Solar Philippines said it will service repair and replacement of the solar installations under the insurances covered by “Solar Protect”.
Solar Phils. president and chief executive officer Leandro Leviste said, “It’s an honor to work with an industry leader with the same enthusiasm for solar technology.”
Pioneer, which was established in 1954, offers insurance both for industries and individuals. It is a 100-percent owned Filipino company.
Solar Philippines, on the other hand, is a solar developer that develops and installs both ground-mounted and solar-rooftop projects. Among its projects are the solar rooftop in SM North EDSA and the 60-megawatt (MW) solar farm project in Calatagan, Batangas. (PNA)
