PNS — “BEFORE you throw mud at innocent people, clean up your own dirt first.”
A 50,000-strong organization threw this challenge yesterday at militants who have filed fraud charges against former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the NBN-ZTE deal even though she and her husband have already been cleared by two probe bodies.
The Movement For Good Governance asked militant leaders like Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño to first prove their moral ascendancy before insisting on the guilt of Mrs. Arroyo despite the absence of proof.
Movement Chair Charlie Chua noted that months were spent by the Ombudsman and the Senate in investigating the NBN issue but not a single, indisputable proof was presented by the so-called witnesses.
“All the witnesses were given all the opportunity to prove their allegations but they did not have any solid proof apart from their own words. The deal was even cancelled by the President. So what is the basis now to still probe the Arroyos?” Choa said.
