ILOILO CITY, Sept. 4 (PNA) — The Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO) will fund a water system project in the town of Carles in the province.
The PHP1.5 million-rainwater harvesting system project is expected to benefit residents of Barangay Bito-on in the said town.
The project, which is part of post Yolanda response, will be implemented by the Signpost Philippines Inc. in tandem with the Regional Development Council (RDC), where the former is a member.
Febie S. Ibojos, country director of Signpost Philippines Inc. explained that while water is available in the area yet they are no sure if the water is potable, they proposed for the project.
Once completed, the water system will also be managed by the community, she said.
At present, the CFO is organizing overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and migrant families as part of their migration project. (PNA)
