DAGUPAN CITY, Sept. 1 (PNA) — A senior citizen drowned at about 2:10 p.m. on Monday at Bonuan Tondaligan Beach in Dagupan City, the police reported Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Wilfredo Cabugao, 69, of Barangay Bued, Calasiao, a town just six kilometers south of Dagupan City.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was swimming in the beach with his family when he was dragged by strong current in the deeper portion of the beach and drowned.
Responding policemen rushed the victim to Decena Hospital in Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Cabugao’s family said the victim was suffering from heart disease. (PNA)
