Another escaped Maguindanao detainee recaptured

Posted on August 26, 2015

COTABATO CITY, Aug 26 (PNA) — Another inmate who, along with four others bolted the Maguindanao provincial jail early today, was rearrested Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

Jail warden Macapagal Blao said Faizal Macarimbang was sighted in a house in Barangay Poblacion 2, about a kilometer away from the jail located at PC Hill in this city.

Blao said his office immediately coordinated with the office of barangay chairperson Johair Madag for the implementation of re-arrest order.

Madag negotiated with the escapee who quietly surrendered to jail officials at past 2 p.m.

Blao said manhunt is still on for the remaining escapee, Fahad Sangki (facing theft charges), who along with Macarimbang, Urak Makalay and Aquino Mento, both facing robbery charges and Tampakan Ankilino (rape), bolted jail amid heavy downpour Tuesday night.

Three of them were re-arrested along Esteros, Cotabato City.

Blao earlier vowed to do his best for the recapture of the remaining escapees after three of the five were recaptured within an hour after they fled at 1 a.m.

Blao said the sawn-off iron grills have been repaired and stricter measures are in place.

He reiterated his appeal to parents of the remaining escapee to help in locating him before the long arm of the law catches him. (PNA)
