MANILA, Aug. 25 (PNA) — Global Finance cited Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. anew as among the top central bankers in the world, his fifth consecutive grade “A” award from the New York-based magazine since 2011.
He received the same citation from the magazine from 2006-07.
In a press statement, the magazine said Tetangco was among the nine central bank governors who topped its 2015 Central Banker Report Cards.
The other winners are the central bank chiefs of Czech Republic, the European Union (EU), India, Israel, Malaysia, Paraguay, Peru and Taiwan.
The annual awards started in 1994 and grades central bank governors from nearly 75 key countries and the EU from a scale of “A” to “F”.
For this year’s awards, central bank governors from five countries were graded for the first time and they came from Botswana, Iceland, Namibia, Paraguay, and Uganda.
The full list of the 2015 winners will be published on the October issue of the magazine. (PNA)
