LOS BANOS Laguna, Aug. 25 (PNA) — The FishBase Information and Research Group Inc.(FIN) will conduct its 13th Annual FishBase Symposium on September 1 at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in this town.
This year’s theme for the symposium is “FishBase and SeaLifeBase for Teaching and Research in Aquatic Science”.
FishBase and SeaLifeBase are distinct biodiversity information systems on all fishes and marine organisms of the world which FIN has been hosting since 2011.
FIN is a non-stock, non-profit, non-governmental organization established in the Philippines in September 2003 to support comprehensive information systems with key data on all aquatic organisms of the world and a partner of IRRI in agricultural and fisheries development.
Local and International speakers who are experts in fisheries, conservation, and biodiversity management will be present in the event. (PNA)
