For the first time, teams of undergraduates from the Philippines are competing in the Global Business Challenge (GBC) organized by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Six teams were announced as the finalists who would compete for a chance to represent the Philippines at the global final to be held in Kuala Lumpur in August 2010.
The CIMA Global Business Challenge, now on its second year, is an international business management competition designed to bring out the best in potential business leaders among young people. The competition is open to full time undergraduates of public or private colleges and universities ideally from a finance or business background.
The six teams who will compete at the country finals are Polytechnic University of the Philippines, De La Salle University – Manila, Mindanao State University IIT, University of San Carlos, University of Santo Tomas and the University of the Philippines – Iloilo. The country final is slated on June 26, 2010 at the Century Hotel in Malate, Manila.
