THE SKY SMILES OVER THE PHILIPPINES

THE SKY SMILES OVER THE PHILIPPINES
ARCH. CELSO C. NIEVES, FUAP, CAAIF

Thousands of Filipinos look up and see the dark nightly sky beaming down and smiling at them. The whole night of May 16 is showing the new moon sweetly smiling with the star Venus shining brilliantly directly over and at the center of the moon. This phenomenon which may occur only once in a lifetime appears in coincidence with Sen. Noynoy Aquino as apparently the winner of the recent election as the President of the Philippines.

Is this a sign for the better future of our country? Did God smile at us as a good tiding that Noynoy is His chosen leader to govern us?

Venus is the goddess of love, and her great brilliance hovering supports her love. Being above the moon is not a pair but a single eye. One means unity, and a single eye according to Jesus in Matthew 6:22, “The light…… if therefore your eye is single, the whole body shall be full of light.” Doesn’t it mean that the body (The Philippines) will be showered with light (blessings)?

Remember that God always give signs. The star of Bethlehem is a sign or a good message that a Messiah was born. This time, it may mean that a new Philippines is in the making.

Whether this omen is true or plain superstition doesn’t matter. God’s presence is amidst us who will guide the new President through love (Venus), unity (single eye) and blessings (light)

But we must not stop here and wait for our good fortune. We must do our assignments too. The end is still on us. To violate what is already at hand through greed of money (not love of money), too much hatred, selfishness, excessive cheating and unforgiving, may bring more disaster instead of goodness. God doesn’t want to be mocked.

We must do a drastic about-face and meet the light we once ignored. Change or renew our minds’ thinking from the bad to the good. Paul said in Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world; but be you transformed by renewing of your mind, and you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Let’s put more love to our atmosphere and witness its effect.

Here is one inspirational passage from a lesson of The Rosicrucian Order, a mystical and metaphysical religious society..

“There is no greater strength in the world than Love; and when thousands of minds in hundreds of cities unite in sending forth vibrations of Love, there is no opportunity for evil, disease and hatred to exist. Send thoughts of love each day, and make the habit of blessing your enemies.”

This is wonderful. I cannot wait to look ahead.
