MANILA, Aug. 23 (PNA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region I has reported that two sections of the Manila North Road (MNR) or MacArthur Highway in Northern Luzon are still closed to vehicles.
In a situational report as of 10:45 a.m. Sunday, the department said the two road sections remained not passable to vehicles due to typhoon “Ineng.”
These are the MNR Junction Abra to Sulvec Section, Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; and MNR, Barangay Bagani Campo, cemetery section.
The Junction Abra to Sulvec section is not passable to all types of vehicles due to high water level and motorists are advised to take the Narvacan Sulvec port road.
The Barangay Bagani Campo cemetery section is also not passable to light vehicles and there is no alternate route for this road section.
The DPWH noted that warning and informative signs are installed in these areas. (PNA)
