MANILA, Aug. 21 (PNA) – Power cut off hit three provinces in Northern Luzon Friday as Typhoon “Ineng” lashed out transmission lines of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) and distribution facilities of electric cooperatives.
In a statement Friday, the NGCP cited that its transmission lines that are under inspection and repair included the San Esteban-Bangued 69 kilovolt (kV) line, La Trinidad-Philex 69 kV line, La Trinidad-Sagada 69 kV line.
The transmission company noted the provinces that had power outages due to the lines affected are Abra, Benguet and Mt. Province.
Abra lost power at 2:09 p.m. Friday, while Tuba and Itogon, Benguet had brownouts at 5:47 p.m.
Meanwhile, some other parts of Benguet and the Mt.Province lost power at 5:48 p.m.
The NGCP is the country’s grid operator, in charge of stabilizing power supply flow. (PNA)
