ILOILO CITY, Aug. 20 (PNA) -– Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. said that he still cannot find somebody to replace Iloilo Sports Complex (ISC) administrator Francisco Heler so for now he will remain in his post.
Defensor said this as Heler has been hurled with issue of ticket non-remittance by a certain Leo Guerrero in the social media, which prompted him to immediately conduct an in house investigation among the ticket sellers.
Heler, who was called by the governor during his regular Thursday press conference, said that hopefully by next week he could already submit the result of his in house investigation to the governor.
But he was confidence that there was no such irregularity for every ticket seller had his own folder for reporting and was randomly audited.
He said that although the issue was just posted on the social media, but then he really took initiative to investigate it.
He said that in fact the income at the ISC has increased to an average of Php300,000 monthly and in 2014 to a total of Php3.9 million.
Defensor said that they really did not expect economic gain at the ISC because it was there to serve as venue to the sports program of Iloilo as well as the physical fitness of the users.
Right now, the Iloilo provincial government is rehabilitating the oval track with a budget of Php18 million but the bid price was only Php13 million. The football field that will be finished by November has a budget of Php 7 million but bid price amounted to Php6.3 million.
The lighting project at the ISC has also a budget of Php18.2 million, but not yet bid out. (PNA)
